Annual Fee for Generation, Conveyance, and Supply Licences
Guernsey Electricity Ltd currently operates as a monopoly in the conveyance and supply of electricity within Guernsey. It holds licences for these activities, as well as for electricity generation. The annual licence fee for these three activities—generation, conveyance, and supply—is set at £180,000. This fee will remain unchanged until further notice, as outlined in Document OUR 04/08.
Application Fee for Generation Licences
The electricity generation sector in Guernsey is open to competition. The application fee for a generation licence is £10,000, which must be submitted alongside a completed application form available in Document OUR 02/16.
For those interested in entering the electricity generation market, the Guernsey Competition and Regulatory Authority (GCRA) will determine an appropriate annual fee for any new market entrants.
